Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE)
Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) is a global manufacturer of turbomachinery with major production facilities in the US, Japan, China, and India as well as over 30 service facilities throughout the world. The Jeannette EEE facility, located about 20 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, includes manufacturing for large gas compressors, steam turbines, cryogenic pumps, as well as testing facilities, R&D laboratories, and engineering headquarters. The tour will include:
- Pickup and hotel and transportation to Jeannette facility
- Lunch & learn overview presentation of Ebara Elliott Energy (lunch will be provided)
- Facility tour including manufacturing, testing, balancing, and R&D facilities
- Return to hotel

Thar Energy
The Thar organization has been a global leader in the use of green, all natural, supercritical fluid processing. Thar brings unmatched experience and intellectual property in the design, construction, installation and servicing of scientific and industrial scale, 24/7/365, supercritical carbon dioxide systems, worldwide, for the energy, pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industries.
The tour will focus on Thar Energy’s activities using sCO2:
- As a heat transfer fluid for power generation
- MWt scale sCO2 Primary Heater IN740H Heat Exchanger
- kWt / MWt scale sCO2 – sCO2 High Temperature Recuperators, IN625
- MWt scale sCO2 – Water Cooler Heat Exchanger, SS316
- sCO2 Heat Exchanger Test Facility
- For use as natural refrigerant for industrial heat pumps
- CO2 industrial heat pump test system
- For use as a green solvent
- High pressure sCO2 extraction system, rated to 1000 bar
- Supercritical Water for use in water purification
- sH2O Desalination and Oxidation Equipment

Transportation Details
Airport Access
- Closest major airport: Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), approximately 19–20 miles from the hotel. Driving time is about 25-30 minutes, depending on traffic.
- Alternative airport: Allegheny County Airport, about 12 miles away.
- The hotel does not provide an airport shuttle.
Public Transit & Local Options
- Light rail (“The T”): The Station Square station on Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s light rail system (“The T”) is adjacent to or very near the hotel, providing easy access to downtown Pittsburgh and other neighborhoods.
- Bus routes: Several city bus routes serve stops within walking distance of the hotel. Key stops include Smithfield Street Bridge + Station Square and E. Carson Street + Station Square Station. Directions
- Funicular (Incline): The Monongahela Incline’s lower station is a short walk away, serving as both an attraction and a transportation option. Details
Driving & Parking
- Driving directions:
- From Pittsburgh International Airport: Take I-376 East → Exit to PA-51 North → Carson Street → follow signs to the Station Square entrance. Directions
- From the south or east of Pittsburgh: Use I-279 or I-376, depending on origin, exit near West End/Carson St, cross the Smithfield Street Bridge to reach Station Square. Directions
- Hotel parking: The Sheraton offers on-site parking, including a garage. Rates are approximately US $34/day.
- Station Square parking: Multiple lots and a garage are available around Station Square, including the garage directly across from the hotel. Rates vary depending on duration; for example, up to 24 hours in the hotel’s garage is around $34.
Visa Invitation Letter Information
International participants who require a visa to enter the United States may request an official invitation letter from the symposium organizers to support their visa application. The invitation letter is intended solely for the purpose of assisting participants with their travel arrangements and does not guarantee visa approval.

Requests will be processed within 5–10 business days of receipt. Invitation letters will be issued in PDF format and sent electronically.
